Physical DescriptionBeaker. Colorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, double-walled, gilt, silvered. Tapered, circular form, with two close-fitting beakers, nested one inside the other, and white a separate disk of glass set in the base; the outer beaker with cut vertical panels; gold and silver foil decoration between the two beakers, consisting of gold band at the rim, with wavy border beneath; a wide band with a group of men setting up an altar, woman scattering flowers, and three man playing musical instruments; a border of repeated shells at the base, above a plain gold band; the base with circular medallion depicting a woman pouring liquid into a bowl, held by a seated nude man (Hercules) holding a club, and sitting on an animal skin; backed with transparent red.
