Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, engraved. Slightly flared sides on a thick disk foot; band of polished lenses and an engraved matte "rope" band below the rim; engraved depiction of two billing birds, one with tall, arching tail feathers, standing on a pair of winged hearts, with wreath above, crossed branches of foliage behind, above a domed ground; inscribed "JCH, LIEB, DIE, TREU" above; engraved depiction of a coiled serpent peering at a flying, flaming heart above, with trees at either side, domed ground below, inscribed "DIE. FALSCHHEIT. ICH. SCHEU"; base encloses a large silver coin, obverse depicting a bearded Wild Man, holding a branched staff in his right hand, inscribed "IN RECTO DECUS" above, and "24" at the right; inscribed on the reverse "XXIIII/MARIEN/GROSCH/V.FEIN. SILB./*C*" in the center, and "GEORG LUD.D.G.D.BR.& L.SR:I.LGT. 1711"; engraved crowned mirror monogram "JTRCP".Provenance
