Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, enameled, gilt. Tapered, straight-sided bowl, with rounded base; two bands of cut facets at the base; relief-enameled decoration on the sides: the conjoined script monogram "FAR" in faceted garnets set onto raised yellow enamel; flanked by enameled sprays of green foliage; gilt and yellow enameled bow tying the sprays together below the monogram; remains of yellow enamel, and a slight chip, above the monogram; on the reverse side, a thick enameled plaque with scrolled outline, the surface decorated with coats of arms (the larger quartered, bearing heraldic eagles in the first and fourth quarters, and riders on horseback carrying sabers and blue shields in the second and third against a purplish-pink background); surmounted (in the center) with a small shield divided vertically, the left divided into black and white sections, with two crossed red swords; the right with yellow and black stripes bearing a arcing green crown; surmounted by an Elector's bonnet; the raised enamel plaque flanked by sprays of green foliage, tied with a yellow and gilt ribbon below; remains of yellow enamel and gilt above; the stem composed of two mereses at the top; flattened ball knop with two bands of cut square facets; merese; inverted baluster stem with cut panel facets; capstan section at the base of the stem; large circular foot; rough pontil mark; enameled red crown and "85." below.
