Physical DescriptionTransparent dark ruby non-lead glass; blown, cut. (a) Thistle- shaped bowl, with tapered, straight sides above a lower, bulbous section; cut and polished decoration, including a band of circular facets below the rim, four stylized flowers on the sides, and a band of herringbone facets on the bulbous section; waisted, panel-cut base to the bowl, flared at the joint with the stem; panel-cut, hollow inverted baluster knop above a panel-cut capstan knop; spreading, panel-cut foot; rough pontil mark. (b) Domed form, with rounded sides and tapered brim; cut panels on top, cut herringbone facets on the side; cut rim; finial composed of a panel-cut inverted pear-shape knop, on a panel-cut capstan; polished pontil mark on the top of the finial.
