Physical DescriptionCup and Saucer. Opaque black non-lead glass; blown, stained (marbled) brown, enameled, silvered, gilt. (a) Ovoid shape bowl, inside and outside covered with a glossy marbleized brown stain; oval panel at front decorated with a nude woman ("Venus") holding a floral garland, with a winged putti holding a dish of flowers before her; silvered border around oval with silvered band extending from it and encircling the cup; gilt rim; applied loop handle; rounded disk foot; gilt foot rim; (b) low circular shape with ogee sides and everted tilt rim, black glass covered with glossy marbleized brown stain; silvered scroll band below rim.Provenance
