Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, polychrome paint (mainly in shades of blue, black, gray, white, ochre), plaster, silicone, wood backing; wood backing cut and sealed with enamel primer, hard foam (donut shape) sculpted and glued to wood with resin, cast glass glued to wood and plaster poured around the "moat", glass globs and acrylic paint applied to donut, paint also used to tint the plaster and glass. Blue-gray ovoid shape with thick raised wrapped border painted with blue, black, white, gray and ochre striations, decorated with intermittently applied colorless glass "jewels"; border surrounds large cast colorless glass section with five egg shape forms in relief (two large, one medium, two small), white background can be seen through egg shapes, edges of glass painted dark blue, glass inset on dark blue background; written in black on wooden backing: "Pelagic Variations (Diatomic Donut)/ 91 S. Stinsmuehlen-Amend".Provenance
