Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, white sulphide; encased, cut, molded sulphide, stamped gilt metal mounts. Flat, rectangular shape, with cut bold gadrooning on the sides and bottom; cut rectangular panels on each face; enclosing a molded sulphide figure of a crowned, standing woman (Mary) holding a child in her arms (Jesus), treading on a serpent, on an orb with a band around the center, inscribed with astrological symbols, reverse side of the sulphide flat; rectangular stamped gilt metal mount at top, with stamped roses and leaves on the side, a bulbous post on top, pierced, with a threaded wire loop for hanging.Provenance
