Physical DescriptionClear glass with minute bubbles; free-blown and enameled. Almost cylindrical body with foot ring made of same gather as Humpen, underfolded rim, high pushed up base with rough pontil mark; enamel decoration: on the body in white enamel with details scratched in the representation of the family standing upright on a strip of grass with large grass tufts; the father has a powder horn and other hunting utensils and holds his left arm up, his wife holds her right arm up, both flank a melon- shaped fruit; to the left and right of the husband and wife are standing six children, the one closest to the husband playing with a dog; between the heads of the couple a sun motif; the inscription above the heads of the children reads: "VIVAT M. H. Mein schatz trinck in gesundheit unser aller Zu ehrn: und thu bescheit; das unser Hertzen erfreit, und gebe uns gluck gesuntheit und Seinen Seegen. 1708. VIVAT Johannes Adam H." (My dear drink to the health of all of us and drink again to make our hearts happy and give us happiness, health and His blessing. Long live...); the white grass strip is accentuated by carelessly drawn red and blue spots, below two white and one blue line as well as a U-shaped line; below rim a wreath with blue and red dots; white dashes on the foot ring.
