Physical DescriptionAquamarine glass; mold-blown; flat applied collar, pontil mark. Obverse: large shield containing at top scalloped frame with clasped hands; above and at sides of frame square and compasses surrounded by five small five-pointed stars; on either side of shield olive branch; similar to GIV-38 but square and compasses slightly smaller; olive branch slightly different, does not show berries. Reverse: in general appearance similar to GIV-38 but variation in detail of eagle's plumage. The shield plain and laurel branch extends from ribbon at left of shield; in oval frame letters "H & S". Inscription: "UNION" above shield containing clasped hands. Edges: smooth.
