Physical DescriptionAquamarine glass; mold-blown; plain lip, pontil mark. Obverse: large shield containing at top scalloped frame with clasped hands; above and at sides of frame square and compasses surrounded by six small five-pointed stars; on either side of shield olive branch. Reverse: American Eagle, head turned to right; wings raised above and parallel with body; eagle perched on shield which is plain. Thunderbolt (four arrows) protrudes from ribbon just right of shield; olive branch protrudes from left side of shield. In eagle's beak long narrow ribbons which extend in parallel line over eagle and below eagle through shield; beneath on lower part of flask long oval frame pointed at top and bottom containing "H & S".
