Physical DescriptionRich reddish amber glass; mold-blown; applied collar and circular depression on base. Obverse: large shield containing at top scalloped frame with clasped hands; above and at sides of frame square and compasses surrounded by five small six-pointed stars; on either side of shield olive branch showing berries; "UNION" above shield. Reverse: American Eagle, head turned to right, wings raised above and parallel with body; eagle perched on shield with nine vertical bars and five small stars. Thunderbolt (four arrows) and olive branch protrude on either side of lower point of shield. In eagle's beak long narrow ribbons which extend in parallel line over eagle and below eagle through shield; beneath on lower part of flask long plain oval frame pointed at top and bottom. Edges: smooth.
