Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown. Slender cylindrical bowl with slightly spreading rim and rounding slightly at bottom, applied high sloping foot, rough pontil mark; hollow finely-ribbed (pattern-molded) loop handle with turned-back end; decoration: incised lines around rim, rounding part of body with so-called gadroon molding upon a cup-like casing; formalized engraved decoration above molding: "W POTTER" above a hop cone with leaves and tendrils flanked by stalks of barley curving toward handle, bird in cage above barley head on one side and, on the other, an insect.
