Interpretive Notes
Kerosene parlor lamps remained a staple in Mt. Washington’s inventory throughout the 1890s. These lamps were decorated with cut and engraved designs or with fashionable painted patterns.
Physical DescriptionOpaque white glass, multicolored enamel, brass; mold-blown, enameled decoration. Spherical shade with vertical molded panels, completely enameled in yellow except for one white section which has enameled yellow and red multi-petaled flowers. Font is pear-shaped, mold blown with raised scrolls, enameled in yellow with matching flowers in white, "AMSTERDAM/124" on base. Original brass burner has "THE BOUDOIR/ E.M. & CO." on the wick raiser.
