Physical DescriptionColorless (grey tint) non-lead glass; blown, blown-molded, impressed, polished, enameled, gilt. Large, ovoid bowl, with rounded, cylindrical projection at the base of the bowl; polished rim, with gilt line below; enameled coat of arms on one side of the bowl, inscribed at the right "H. Schimpky", with a shield bearing three green leaves behind a horizontal red bar (the shield divided in thirds, white bars above and below, red at the center); crowned helmet with crest of three leaves, florid red and white mantling; on the reverse, a shield bearing a sheep on a yellow background, signed at the right "H. Schimpky 1895."; standing on green ground, with crowned helmet and sheep crest with black wings; florid black on amber mantling; red ribband below, inscribed in yellow "Respice/finem"; inscribed on either side, in red and white enamels, "Premierlieutenant/Otto von Dassel/freundlichst/gewidmet von/K. Adolf Wachofen/von Echt 1895."; scattered gold, white and red stars on the remainder of the bowl; applied "verry" prunts on the side of the projection at the base of the bowl, with yellow enamel dots on the top rims of the prunts, and with stylized enameled flowers between; flattened disk with slanted red and white enamel line at the top of the bowl; six free-standing applied loops with pincered trailings springing from the base of the bowl, and attached to the top of the stem, with white enamel dots on the sides; hollow molded stem and foot, with a bulbous section at top, applied berry prunts with yellow enamel dots, alternating with stylized enameled flowers; terraced, horizontally ribbed foot, with a gilt line on the top rib, white enameled dots on the next, blue enamel dots on the third rib from the bottom, a gilt line on the next, and white enameled hearts on the bottom rib; polished foot rim.
