Physical DescriptionKurfursten Humpen Showing Holy Roman Emperor and Electors. Clear bubbly glass with impurities and grey tinge; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Cylindrical body with slightly pushed up base having rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; enamel decoration: the German Emperor clad in a yellow coat and sitting on a throne with its back decorated with fruit and red trefoil ornament on top, in front of the feet of the Emperor the double headed eagle on a yellow shield; on the pale pink pedestal: "Rom Keyser"; to the left and right of the Emperor the seven Electors standing on a blue, yellow and green checkerboard floor and clad in brown coats and white collars, holding their symbols and accompanied by their shields and names; on the reverse a blue column-like upward tapering motif standing on a yellow pedestal, from its top emerge yellow, white and brown leaf-like ornaments; flanking the column motif: "1600"; below rim a gold band with a wavy line of white beads as well as single blue beads, and accompanied by two rows of white beads and one row of red beads, at the bottom a tendril-like frieze in green and yellow and clusters of blue berries, accompanied by red and greenish lines; white dots on the foot ring; the inscription above the Electors and the Emperor is as follows: "Ordentliche furbildung der sieben Churfurstlichen subsessionen und dero ampter so sie im heiligen Romischen Reich neben der kaiserlichen maiestadt haben".
