Physical DescriptionClear extremely bubbly glass with slight grey tinge; free-blown, enameled and gilded. (a) Almost cylindrical body slightly tapering at top and with slightly pushed up base having rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; (b) flanged, domed cover topped by a bulge which supports the stemmed solid ball knop finial; enamel decoration: the object is divided in two zones showing the Emperor and the seven Electors on horseback; on the top zone the Emperor and the three spiritual Electors mounted on the white horses proceeding to the left in their garments and symbols and accompanied by their names; they are separated by identical ornaments, underneath the Emperor a large double headed eagle surmounted by the date, "1625"; grass tufts and lily-of-the-valley are on the base of each of the two zones which are framed by single red and blue lines; below the rim a gilded band accompanied by rows of white beads and, on top, by a row of single lily-of-the-valley blossoms, white dashes on the foot ring; on the cover the diamond-star border identical to the ones on the Humpen, white dashes on the flanged bulge on top, the lower portion of the finial is red with yellow dashes, the top of the finial is painted blue.
