Physical DescriptionClear very bubbly glass; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Tall straight-sided beaker, slightly tapering downwards to slightly concave base without pontil mark; enamel decoration: on the obverse in multicolored enamel, the large coat of arms of the Elector of Saxony, on top and bottom: "I. G. D. 4 H. Z. S. I. C. B. E. u. W. C." (Johann George der vierte Herzog zu Sachsen, Julich, Cleve, Berg, Engern und Westfalen, Churfurst"; "Hofkellerey Dreszden 1693"; on the reverse a large multicolored and gilded star ornament accompanied by two smaller similar ornaments with spirals; the one has spirals and palmettes radiating from the gilded six-diamond leaf star; around bottom a band of white vertical dashes alternating with gilded diamonds, below rim a gilded band (partly rubbed off) accompanied by three rows of white beads.Provenance
