Physical DescriptionClear glass with few bubbles and impurities; wear marks at base; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Almost cylindrical body slightly tapering at top and bottom, with high pushed up base, having rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; enamel decoration: the body is divided in two zones, framed by gilded bands with a scale pattern and studded with green and red pearls as well as accompanied by rows of blue and white pearls (gold partly rubbed off); the upper zone shows the full-length figure in armor S. Mauritius holding in his left hand the shield with a double headed eagle against a yellow background, holding with his right arm a standard with a red cross on a white background; the coats of arms belong to the families of the Chapter of the Cathedral of Magdeburg; flanking S. Mauritius is the date 1594; the names and the titles are as follows: "Ludwig von Lochow Domdechant; Wichart von Bredow Senior und thessaurarius; Ernst von Meltzing, Subsenior; Titke von Mollendorf Cantor; Friedrich von Arnstadt; Johan von Arnim, Cellarius; Cuno von Lochow; the coats of arms are divided by lozenge-shaped, gilded motifs, studded with white pearls; the foot ring is gilded and is studded with green, blue, and red dots.
