Physical DescriptionClear bubbly glass with grey tinge; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Cylindrical body with high pushed up base having rough pontil mark; applied foot ring; enamel decoration: the body is divided in two zones, framed by three gilded bands having scale pattern and studded with green and red beads and accompanied by four rows of white and blue beads; the coat of arms in the two zones belong to the chapter members of the Cathedral of Magdeburg; on the upper zone is the full-length figure of St. Maurice holding with his left hand a shield with a double headed eagle and holding in his right a standard with a red cross against a white background; above: "S. Mauritius 1593"; the shields are accompanied by the names: "Ludwig von Lochow Domdechant; Wichart von Bredow Senior und thessaurarius; Ernst von Meltzing, Subsenior; Titke von Mollendorf Cantor; Friedrich von Arnstadt; Johan von Arnim, Cellarius; Cuno von Lochow; Christoff von Hunigke; Wolffg. Spitznas, Camerarius; Heinrich von der Asseburg, Vice Dominus; Christoff von ghorne, Schlaster; Ludwig von Lochow"; in the free spaces between the coat of arms, gilded, quartered diamonds with red and white dots; dashes on the foot ring.
