Physical DescriptionTransparent light blue glass with many minute bubbles; surface partly dull through weathering, some tan colored scum, especially along rim and at base; free blown, with applied decoration; straight sided body tapering downwards to slightly rounded base, applied spreading foot (periphery of disc), slightly concave base with rough pontil mark; on the exterior of the bowl, between two irregular applied threads below rim and one at the lower body, a frieze of "abstract' stylized animals moving to the left (?) made up of free drawn hot threads very quickly applied to the surface of the bowl; the "animal" motifs seem to be repeated six times, the animals terminating on the upper left in beak-like extensions, only the contours are "drawn", the threads are partly sunken into the surface, one wavy thread runs continuously around the vessel while one single thread is used for each of the six motifs to outline the remaining "animal".
