Physical DescriptionGreenish very bubbly glass; free-blown and enameled. Almost cylindrical body slightly tapering at top and bottom, with very high pushed up base having rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; enamel decoration: the Emperor and the seven Electors are grouped in two rows around the vessel, on horseback; on a strip of grass, and on white horses, the Emperor and the Electors of Trier, Cologne, and Mainz, moving to the left, with their names written in capitals beside them and interrupted by star-like motifs in yellow and blue; the lower frieze contains the other four electors with their names, again interrupted by the same star-like motifs, riding on white horses on a band of green grass; above one of the star motifs: "1658"; below rim a white cross festoon band above blue, yellow and red lines and a row of white beads; white dashes on the foot ring.
