Physical DescriptionClear glass with few minute bubbles and yellowish tinge; interior to 1/2" below rim clouded; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Body slightly flaring upwards, pushed up base with rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; enamel decoration: on the obverse in multicolored enamel a coat of arms including a crown and three sabers on a blue background, surmounted by a crown and a boy holding a sword in his left hand, the boy being flanked by the date: "1687"; the shield which is flanked by two lions is surrounded by two wreath-like green branches with blue, red and yellow blossoms; on the reverse a single flower stalk with a white blossom, flanked on the left and right, by four gilded, quartered diamonds studded with white and blue beads and surrounded by elaborate palmette and spiral motifs in white, yellow and red to form stars; gilded band below rim (partly rubbed off) accompanied by three rows of white beads, white dashes on the foot ring; old catalogue number in red on the base: "453-IV".Provenance
