Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless, with yellowish tint and very small bubbles. Blown and relief-cut. Fragment of bottle. Lower wall straight and slightly tapered. Decorated in relief with frieze containing part of animal. At bottom of frieze, notched horizontal border and, below this, band of semicircular arches. Animal appears in profile facing left. It has head with countersunk eye and pointed snout with incised cross hatching; junction of neck and body is indicated by raised line with incised herringbone pattern; chest has notched outline; both forelegs are shown, with clearly defined shoulders (right shoulder has incised herringbone pattern with median line, while left shoulder is almond-shaped and contoured) and oval feet with transverse hatching. In front of animal, part of curved linear motif with incised herringbone pattern. Entire background, both inside and below frieze, has traces of cold working.Provenance
