Physical DescriptionColorless, polychrome lead glasses; blown, millefiori, cut, gilt. Tapered, straight-sided bowl with rounded base; cut, tapered rim, with gilt bands inside and out; four large raised oval panels on the sides, containing closely-packed arrays of millefiori canes; the edges of the panels cut and gilt; gilt lines originally outlined the edges; cut rectangular panels behind the ovals; cut groove with gilt band below; cut rounded panels at the base of the bowl; stem with cut ledge, outlined with gilding at the top; panel-cut, true baluster stem enclosing a white twist (two intertwined 12-ply spiral bands); thick, circular foot, panel-cut on top; enclosing numerous closely- packed millefiori canes; gilt rim; polished pontil mark on the bottom of the foot; inscribed "S1749" in green paint.Provenance
