Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless, with yellowish brown tinge; many very small bubbles. Blown; relief-cut. Triangular fragment of truncated conical beaker. Rim cracked off and ground. Wall (TTh. 0.15 cm) straight and tapering. Decorated in relief (Th. 0.05 cm): 2.4 cm below rim, horizontal rib, presumably upper border of frieze. Surviving part of frieze has parts of two animals shown in profile, facing each other, with little space between their muzzles and front feet. Animal on left has head with countersunk eye, flat muzzle with short cut separating upper and lower jaws (which have groups of very short parallel cuts), and large oval ear divided by longitudinal cut and with short parallel cuts on either side, together making herringbonepattern; back of neck and back are defined by notched outlines; fleece on chest is indicated by four overlapping crescent-shaped cuts; belly and front leg have notched outlines, with lower leg and hoof
bent back underneath upper part of leg. Animal on right, of which only part of head and leg survive, appears to be mirror image of animal on left.
