Physical DescriptionColorless, purplish-colorless, transparent blue, opaque white, and opaque yellow glass; colorless and opaque white canes; bowl of vetro a reticella formed from colorless tube with opaque white vetro a fili canes spiraling in one direction inflated inside cup with canes spiraling in opposite direction, with air trap in each compartment enclosed by canes; stem and foot made from several gathers, which were tooled, from trails, appliqués, and canes with braided opaque white pattern cased with colorless. Goblet consisting of bowl, tripartite stem, and foot. Bowl: bell-shaped; plain rim finished with blue trail and wall which curves inward, downward and inward to bottom in elongated S; on floor, small pontil mark. Stem in three parts (uppermost, middle, and lowest), formed and assembled from the bottom up. Lowest part: solid stem tapering in toward bottom and terminating in disk, which is set at center of flower-like element with vertically ribbed calyx and eight tooled triangular petals; on tip of each petal, blue blob; at top of calyx, horizontal blue trail; below flower, stem narrows and then splays into shallow hollow foot with blue trail around edge; small pontil mark. Middle part: from bottom to top: open-work construction consisting of two opposed groups of colorless and white canes, colorless trails and colored appliqués; each group consists of one cane attached to top of lowest part of stem and pulled outward, upward and inward, the lower end curled upward and inward and the upper end curled downward and inward; single colorless trail dropped on top lower end of cane, pulled up to upper end and crimped; at junction of middle and lowest parts of stem, two drops of colorless glass, which are flattened and have flowers with five white petals and yellow blob at center, and finial of purplish-colorless glass.
