Physical DescriptionTranslucent white lead glass; blown-molded, enameled, transfer-printed, and gilt. Classical vase shape, with rounded incurved rim, waisted neck, ovoid body; gilt rim band; band of gilt stylized palmettes and scrolls around the neck, band of gilt palmettes and scrolls around the shoulder; on the side, an orange and brown transfer-printed depiction of two figures in a chariot drawn by four horses (quadriga); on the reverse formal gilt shell pattern; double-domed foot, with a band of gilt palmettes, above a gilt line; the underside of the foot with a purple printed circular mark, with "RICHARDSON'S · / STOURBRIDGE" in a ring around "P." (printed, purple) above "282" (orange, script); rough pontil mark.
