Physical DescriptionClear glass; blown and engraved, with applied parts. Pedestal foot with spreading folded rim forming an air-trap, bowl with straight walls and flat bottom resting on a ring; two ear-shaped ribbed handles applied to the bowl. Engraved decoration: bowl, obverse: the English royal coat-of-arms, flanked by "E R" and the coat-of-arms of Canada, Australia, the Union of S. Africa and New Zealand; reverse: "2, June 1953. I declare...that my whole life shall be devoted to your service.", flanked by the coat-of-arms of Pakistan, Indka, Cylon and S. Rhodesia; below rim: "The coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II." On the foot are flowers, underneath the rim an inscription: "THE "COMMONWEALTH" CUP - ROYAL. BRIERLEY - ENGRAVED BY E. Rowley, 50 MADE, NO. 4".
