Physical DescriptionOpaque brick-red, translucent blue, green, yellow and opaque white canes, bubbly, dull with some surface scratches; cast and cut along with mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Large section of wall revetment, elaborate meander pattern formed of pre-cast and polished red glass strips beveled at 45° on each end and outlined on either side with narrow beveled strips of white marble. Above and below were mosaic glass borders, one of which is preserved and retains alternating patterns of four-petaled flowers, blue petals cased in white in a red square matrix alternate with green petals cased in yellow in a blue glass matrix; the entire design appears to have been pressed into a hot resinous material the back of which retains large impressions of pebbles.Provenance
