Body of two part alabastron, upper section broken, body spreads down and out before tapering down into a base with a rounded point; entire surface is covered with undulating bands of alternating colors all of which spiral down to the point; pattern of bands is not fixed but is generally a wide blue-green backed with opaque white followed by thin band of blue, opaque white, and blue followed by a wide band of colorless with fractured gold foil trapped beneath; this pattern is repeated almost three complete times.Provenance
